Bakul Mulji Sitapara who is 42 yrs old and a storekeeper at Kandla Port Trust was transplanted successfully on June 4 2001. He Quotes "I was afraid to go even on dialysis and thought probably life was not meant for me & I may not see kids in near future. Then I attended Patient Education Program in which not only I was educated but patient's relatives are also educated. I gathered courage to go for transplant and my wife was most supportive during my illness donated me kidney coincidently on her b'day. Today I am more than satisfied and optimistic about my life and able to stand up against Earthquake Devastation. I not only feel I was given correct treatment but post operative monitoring and care was excellent. All the staff was extremely cooperative. The entire internal atmosphere keeps you healthy. A balanced diet provided by Canteen, Good housekeeping, helping hand of Medical Social Work Department streamlined my treatment. There was no second thought about it that I was in right place after seeing Doctors interest in my recovery, views of Dr. M. R. Desai that it is not only essential to monitor how kidney behaves but also how patient behaves impressed me. "

Dear Dr Rajapurkar and Dr Maheshbhai Desai, The prime purpose of writing this small note is to express on behalf of our entire family and myself our sincere thanks and gratitude to you and the entire staff of the Urological Hospital for the tireless efforts, care, courtesy, kindness and sympathy extended to our beloved Ramagauri - (Rashmi). All the doctors who looked after her and treated her on very regular basis even went out of their way to ensure that she was well looked after and comfortable. They left nothing to chance and tried their level best at all times. Truly speaking many times they monitored her progress at odd hours at night and at very short notices. It gave my family and myself courage and comfort that she received the best treatment and loving care from all of you. I am at a loss of words to express my feelings and sincere thanks. It is not possible for me to thank and name all individuals, but request you to convey our sincere thanks to all of them. To Bhaskaran I say a million thanks for ensuring that we were all comfortable. he ensured that we had a constant supply of magazines, newspapers and periodicals that enabled us to update our knowledge of the ever changing world. His regular visits to our room have been very highly appreciated. Sujataben's affection and love has made a lasting mark on the hearts of all of us and in particular Rashmi. Your presence made her feel happy, you had fondly called her 'PRINCESS'. Infact to all of us she was a princess and all the Doctors and Nursing Staff accorded her the princely treatment and care worthy of that title. At all times her wish was a royal command and she was provided with any and everything be it local and foreign, and this too at times within minutes. At times you played cards with her to amuse her and during casual conversation kept her well informed of Magic World of Movies. Jayshreeben and the Matron regularly visited her and spent time with her. Many, many thanks to you both. The staff at the Pharmaceutical department, Reception Desk, Telephone Operators, Officers of the Bills and Account Section, Blood Test Section, entire staff of the Dialysis Ward and Kidney Transplant Ward was extremely kind to us and their co-operation and excellenct service were second to none. Somehow we always received V.I.P. treatment, even from the Watchman at the main entrance. We always got a feeling that everyone at the Hospital was sharing our affliction and this in itself was very comforting and to a very great extent reduced the difficult and trying times that we were going through.
